S.A.C Electronics Coax Cable Mapper
TECHNICAL PRODUCT OF THE MONTH
The coax cable mapper is designed to find and identify multiple coax cables. It’s a hand–held device designed for CATV and security system installers who test multi-run coax systems terminated with F-connector, or those who wish to map cable runs to a central bundle.
It can be used to put a tone signal on a coax cable, as well as find and identify multiple coax cables connected to a coax splitter.
The mapper comes with 8 individually numbered remote terminators, the mapper has a list or corresponding numbers, once the test button is pressed the mapper can identify which remote terminator is on the other end of the cable.
Please contact our New Technologies Division 08444 632558 for further information and to request a specification sheet. | | - Step 1 - Simply place the serial-numbered remote terminators on to the wall points/pre-fixed cables throughout a building.
- Step 2 – Relocate to the system end with the bundle of terminated un-organised cables, using the cable tester, test each cable to match to the relevant location. The matched cable can now be fixed to the distribution system/splitter/etc.
- Step 3 - Once all cables are identified and fixed the remote terminators can be removed and stored.
